The Snow Auger is the primary component in snow throwers. On a single-stage snow thrower, the auger pulls snow into the machine and directs it out to the discharge chute, whereas a two-stage snow thrower feeds the snow into a high-speed impeller before directing to a discharge chute. Augers, particularly in one-stage snow throwers, can be damaged from contacting the ground, and get chewed up over time. Skid Shoes can help prevent contact with the ground, for use in both paved and unpaved surfaces.
